The new in-form team in the Premier League is coming to White Hart Lane on Sunday, and Tottenham Hotspur are still unclear as to whether a trio of players will be fit and ready to start. Spurs released team news ahead of their home tie against Everton today and the club was cagey with regards to the status of Harry Kane, Toby Alderweireld, and Jan Vertonghen, saying that a decision on whether they start Sunday will be made after Saturday’s final training.

Alderweireld and Vertonghen both were subbed out early during last weekend’s 4-0 win over Stoke City with minor injuries that were described as “precautionary.” Kane’s appearance on on this list is a little surprising. He went down at one point in the stoke holding his hamstring after appearing to collide with the right post, but continued to play and didn’t seem to suffer any ill effects. Nevertheless, to see him as even a minor doubt is a bit concerning.

Elsewhere, still no change in the status of Danny Rose and Eric Lamela, with Rose described as several weeks away from full training, and Lamela still apparently hidden in an undisclosed location, probably.

Despite being seventh in the table, Everton are flying to start the new year. The Toffees bring a squad that is unbeaten in the league in 2017 and a white-hot striker in Romelu Lukaku. Spurs are no doubt hoping that both Toby and Jan will be fit and ready to go, because without a solid, first choice defense there’s every chance that Everton could snatch a result at the Lane on Sunday.
