There’s breaking news from north London, and it’s the worst possible kind. Tottenham Hotspur announced via social media that U23 manager Ugo Ehiogu has been hospitalized after collapsing at Spurs’ training facilities at Hotspur Way this morning.

The club’s statement came swiftly after uncorroborated reports and rumors began swirling on social media that Ehiogu had been hospitalized. The club has not noted the nature of Ehiogu’s medical condition that led him to be hospitalized. Various online reports have suggested that it could have been a heart attack or similar situation, but it’s important to note that these have NOT been confirmed and should be considered at best rumor.
Ehiogu, just 44, has been at Tottenham since 2014. As a player he had a nine year career at Aston Villa as a defender, with stops along the way at Middlesbrough, Rangers, and Sheffield United. He has four senior caps for England.
We have very few details with which to go on at this point, but we obviously send our very best to Ugo, and hope for a swift recovery.
