Sunday football open thread

Happy Sunday, football fans! There are two matches in the Premier League for your entertainment this fine day. Thankfully, neither of them will have any impact on Tottenham’s table position.

• Sunderland vs. Manchester United, 1:30 p.m., 8:30 am ET
• Everton vs. Leicester City, 4 pm, 11 am ET

Manchester United hasn’t exactly been GOOD lately, but they are probably better than sixth place, which is where they are now. Thankfully for them, they’re playing a trash-fire Sunderland team that is bottom of the table and looks likely to be relegated.

Everton vs. Leicester seems like the more compelling match up, with the Foxes, once threatened for the drop, have risen to 11th place under caretaker manager Craig Shakespeare. Everton are three points behind United, but the Red Devils have two matches in hand, so, welp.
