The Premier League released its eight candidates for the EA Sports Premier League Player of the Season, and as expected, Tottenham Hotspur are well represented. In fact, there are three Spurs players nominated: Harry Kane, Dele Alli, and Jan Vertonghen.

Chelsea also have three players in contention: N’Golo Kante, Cesar Azpilicueta, and Eden Hazard. Everton’s Romelu Lukaku and Arsenal’s Alexis Sanchez round out the field.

Unlike in the Premier League’s monthly awards, it’s difficult to get a bead on who might be the favorite to take home the award. N’Golo Kante won the PFA Player of the Season, which could make him a favorite to win the PL’s award, but honestly you could probably make an argument for Kane, Hazard, Sanchez, or even Alli.

Meanwhile, Mauricio Pochettino has also been nominated for the Barclay’s Manager of the Season award, along with Chelsea’s Antonio Conte, Swansea’s Paul Clement, Burnley’s Sean Dyche, Bournemouth’s Eddie Howe, and West Brom’s Tony Pulis.

Of the managers, you think that the final award will probably come down to Conte and Pochettino, with the Chelsea boss most likely edging it. It’s hard to overlook Conte after Chelsea put on such a strong showing from January to the end of the season. But stranger things have happened! (I assume Pulis gets the nomination just for the banter.)

Like in the monthly awards, fan voting makes up a small percentage of the final tally when determining the winners, and you can vote by clicking the links in the above tweets.
