Mabbutt played in both central defense and midfield for Tottenham during his sixteen year career at the club, scoring 27 goals in 477 appearances between 1982 and 1998. Mabbutt is frequently seen at Tottenham Hotspur matches and is one of the more beloved former players at Spurs. He was one of a number of Spurs luminaries who were recognized at the White Hart Lane closing ceremony in May.
He is also President of Tottenham Hotspur Ladies, who tweeted their support for him.
Everyone at the Club sends our best wishes to @ThlfcOfficial President, Gary Mabbutt. Get well soon and we hope for a speedy recovery.
