Pre-season has officially begun at Hotspur Way. The coaches are back, most of the players are back, and the team is taking part in friendlies behind closed doors before the upcoming trip to the United States.

Today, Tottenham beat Leyton Orient 4-0 in one of those friendlies. The goals were scored by Will Miller, Jaden Brown, Kyle Walker-Peters, and Georges-Kevin N’Koudou.

It wasn’t televised or anything, but the club might release videos of some of the goals later in the day.

Obviously the result here isn’t what is important. Mauricio Pochettino will just have wanted his players to get a good run-out early in pre-season. Much of the focus in training right now is on building up the player’s fitness levels after the summer break.

But N’Koudou featuring could be about more than just his fitness. It’s unclear how many first team players partook in this friendly, but if GKN was the only one then that’s a bit concerning. He’s one of a few players who might have to prove themselves to Pochettino, in these early sessions, in order to stay at the club.

Expect a few more of these types of friendlies before Spurs leave for their American tour later this week.

UPDATE: We’ve got some highlights! Here’s how it all went down...
