The rumors linking former Liverpool and current AC Milan winger Suso to Tottenham Hotspur continue to persist in the media. The latest comes from Gianluca Di Marzio, who writes on his blog that Spurs have made a formal inquiry about the 23-year old Spaniard.
As we wrote a couple of days ago, Suso has had a much easier time of it in Italy than he did in Merseyside, bouncing back after Milan bought him for only £1.1m in 2015 to tally 7 goals and 11 assists in all competitions last season. That’s apparently put him on the radar of Mauricio Pochettino who may consider him as a replacement for Moussa Sissoko on the right wing, especially as Erik Lamela continues to recuperate from a double hip surgery this past spring.
Di Marzio suggests that neither the player nor Milan are especially interested in selling Suso at this time, but an inquiry does seem to indicate that there’s at least some interest on Tottenham’s side. Suso would be a perfectly capable backup and rotation option on a Spurs team that will play in the Champions League next season, though the player may not want to leave a starting role in Italy for a rotation gig in north London.
