The second half of today’s match between Tottenham Hotspur and PSG was a quiet one for much of it. Spurs made wholesale changes at intermission, and the game had settled down into a rhythm, despite PSG going down to ten men early in the period. It looked like this might be a scoreless half and a 2-2 draw by the end.
But then Toby Alderweireld said: NOPE.

Alderweireld fired home a 25 yard blast past Alphonse Areola to send the Spurs faithful in Orlando into rapture, and just like that Spurs were up 3-2.
I like this video a lot because it’s clearly taken from the stands at Camping World Stadium but still gives a good view of what Alderweireld did. And what he did was thump a thunderblast into the net. But if you like, here’s another view from the TV feed.

If this is a preview of the 2018 Champions League final, then I’m already excited. Bring it, PSG.
