They call football the beautiful game. An artistic display of teamwork mixed with sprinkles of individual talent. Books have been written about the sport’s beauty. Tottenham Hotspur participated in one of the worst friendlies ever played on Tuesday as they slogged around a field with AS Roma for 90 minutes to get some fitness and earn some promoters money.
Down 2-0 late in the match, Spurs clawed a goal back through Harry Winks, who scored one of the ugliest goals in the history of association football. Behold this beauty:

This was in the 87th minute. Just two minutes late, Spurs had an equalizer thanks to Vincent Janssen. The much-maligned Dutchman finished nicely off a Georges-Kévin Nkoudou ball to the near-post.
Unbelievable finish here in New york! Janssen scores a 90th min equaliser only for Roma to score straight away! 3-2 to Roma pic.twitter.com/EjScvPKI2Q

And that’s the end. Nothing else happened after that. — Okay so, Roma came right back down off the kickoff and scored the winner, whoop-de-doo. Spurs might not win the International Champions Cup. EVERYONE PANIC NOW.
