It didn’t take Filip Lesniak long to find a new club in the Danish Superliga.

A former Tottenham Hotspur youth academy graduate who ironically made his first team debut with the club last season has found a new home in Denmark. Slovakian midfielder Filip Lesniak, who was released by the club this summer after a series of loans, has joined Danish Superliga side Aalborg on a free transfer.

Lesniak spent the whole of last season on loan at Czech Republic side Slovan Liberec, but returned to Tottenham in time to play a role in Spurs’ run-in. Due to injuries to various Tottenham midfielders, Lesniak made his Spurs senior debut as a late game central midfield substitute against Leicester City, where he provided an assist for Harry Kane. He also made the match-day squad for the last match of the season against Hull, though he didn’t take the field.

Lesniak is joining an AaB side that won the Superliga in 2014 but finished eighth in the table last season. Good luck, Filip!
