We haven’t heard much from Clinton N’Jie one way or another for the past while. The speedy Tottenham Hotspur forward spent the year on loan at Marseille in part exchange for the purchase of George-Kevin N’Koudou last summer, and it was said that Marseille had an option to buy him for around £6m at the end of the season.
Clinton had 12 goals and 11 assists in all competitions this past season for OM. I obviously can’t read: Clinton had four goals and an assist last season for OM. He was listed on Spurs’ retained/released list at the end of the season which made a lot of people scratch their heads. And then... nothing. No announcements, no updates.
Well, it looks as though OM have indeed finalized N’Jie’s sale, as he has been photographed in preseason training with Marseille. Here he is before a team-building rafting exercise.
And if that’s not clear enough for you, here’s Clinton arriving at Marseille’s training ground on his first day of training, complete with a new all-blonde hairstyle.

A quick look at Clinton’s Transfermarkt page shows that he has officially been sold for a transfer fee of £5.95m. I haven’t seen any formal acknowledgement of that from Tottenham or Marseille, and my guess is we probably won’t. Hopefully Clinton can turn the page on what was a disappointing year at Spurs and can carve out a successful career back in France.
