After opting to sign his first professional contract with Fulham, we knew that Ryan Sessegnon would command a sizable fee. The 17-year-old left fullback has significant potential, and Tottenham were reportedly very interested in acquiring his services. This morning, the Daily Mirrror reported that Fulham rejected a £25m bid from Spurs.
Tottenham have had a stunning £25m bid for Fulham teenager Ryan Sessegnon turned down.
Spurs have been desperate to sign the 17-year-old left back and even Sessegnon signing a new contract has not put them off.
They came in with a mega offer but Fulham stood firm and said that Sessegnon is not for sale at any price.
Fulham hold all the cards here. Sessegnon has a three-year contract, and there’s no reason to expect the Cottagers to say anything other than “he’s not for sale.” Add that to the swirling rumors about Danny Rose’s future after his interview in the Sun, and it makes sense that Fulham would dig in their heels and not settle for anything less than what they want.
With about two weeks left in the transfer window that has been fruitless thus far, Spurs will certainly be busy in the coming days. If this £25m offer is legitimate, then it’s hard to believe that the pursuit of Sessegnon is over.
