We’re mostly just waiting at this point. Tottenham Hotspur are set to make their first signing of the season -- 21-year old Ajax central defender Davinson Sanchez will be a Tottenham player barring anything catastrophic like a meteor striker or — oh god — getting Willian’d.

Still, it feels pretty good, doesn’t it? And I didn’t even have to google him. Just think, a month ago we were heavily linked with Sanchez’s teammate, Joel Veltman.

A couple of links to get your morning going.

Sooooo... Apparently Messi hasn’t signed his new contract yet at Barcelona, and his deal expires in 2018. GET ON IT, LEVY.

Speaking of Barcelona, Luis Suarez will miss at least a month with a knee injury. I’m kinda hoping we DO draw Barca in the Champions League now.

Buckle up, the Telegraph thinks that Spurs might not let a pesky thing like a three month hamstring injury stand in the way of signing Ross Barkley.

Kevin McCauley thinks that the Gylfi-to-Everton transfer is lose-lose for both teams.
