It’s been a little bit of a trying day, so let’s get back to the fun transfer rumors. Here’s one from our good friend Gianluca Di Marzio, who hypothesizes that Serie A club Hellas Verona has made a bid for Tottenham Hotspur winger Georges-Kevin N’Koudou. The offer is apparently a loan with an offer to purchase at the end of the 2017-18 season.
It’s Di Marzio, so basically take a coin and flip it to determine legitimacy. I have no idea whether this is real or not; the entire article is literally a paragraph and provides no details. GKN has been injured since before the season started and there haven’t been any updates as to when he might return to the squad, or whether that might impact any potential deal.
Tottenham haven’t had the best luck with young, speedy wingers, though that has seemed to be something that Mauricio Pochettino has wanted. Clinton N’Jie only lasted a season before returning to Ligue 1, and I guess now there’s a chance that GKN could meet a similar fate. Or not! We don’t know! Wheeeeee!
For those who are curious, Verona is new to Serie A this season after being promoted by finishing second in Serie B last season. This being Italy, GKN could potentially fit in quite well at a club like Verona where he could use his speed to his advantage.
Moreover, GKN heading out would HAVE to mean that Spurs are planning on bringing in a new attacking midfield option before the transfer window closes, right? RIGHT?
