The 2017 Champions League group stage draw will take place in Monaco today. This is always a highly anticipated event, and especially for Tottenham Hotspur fans.
This is only the third time that Spurs will have participated in the Champions League. In 2010, Spurs made it all the way to the quarterfinals in a glorious run, defeating Inter Milan and AC Milan before bowing out to Real Madrid. Last season, Spurs flamed out in the group stages after losing twice to Bayer Leverkusen and Monaco.
This time, Spurs will likely have it even tougher. Stuck in Pot 3, it is very likely that they will draw at least one European superpower, and possibly two. But just remember that if Spurs are drawn into a Group of Death, it is in part called that because Tottenham Hotspur are in it. Everyone wants to avoid Spurs, too.
