Hump day can be a reflective part of the week at the best of times- let alone when Spurs have just struggled to an ugly 1-0 win against Championship opposition. In crabby malcontent news, Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers said something about young footballers and fancy soap bags and I’m only mentioning this in order to draw out your best ‘slipping over’ jokes.
Over in Germany Manuel Neuer is going to be out of Bayern’s penalty area for the rest of 2017, as if he ever spends any time in there anyway.
And finally... Rio Ferdinand, the legendary former pointer and shouter for Man Utd and England, is set to launch a career in boxing. He’s used to blocking strikes in the area but CAN HE etc etc etc
