The first half between Tottenham Hotspur and Everton probably favored Spurs slightly, with the home side keeping much of the ball but not able to create a whole lot of chances initially. That changed in the 24th minute when Christian Eriksen started the play that led to a goal from Son Heung-Min.
That’s a gorgeous ball from Christian Eriksen to find Serge Aurier, who had acres of space to work with. Everton had no defenders anywhere near him, and rather than take the shot himself, Aurier had the foresight to put a low cross to a streaking Son who tapped it past Jordan Pickford.
Update: Sonny has been all over the place in this match, moving from goal scorer to creator. Check out this lovely turn and run from Son before crossing to Harry Kane for Tottenham’s second goal. RIP JonJoe Kenny, he will be remembered.
