There are great starts to a match and then there are absolute dream starts. That’s what Christian Eriksen has provided Tottenham Hotspur against Manchester United today at Wembley Stadium. The Danish international has given Spurs a 1-0 lead with a shocking goal in the first 11 seconds of the match.
It was a frantic break up the field from kick off that eventually turned into the opening goal. It wasn’t the most beautiful of moves as the chance came from a blocked Dele Alli shot from a pour angle. However, no one will be talking about the attractiveness of the goal.
At 11 seconds officially, it’s the second fastest goal in Premier League history trailing Spurs legend Ledley King by just a second (9.9 seconds in 2000 officially). While it may have come up just short of the record, it’s pretty cool to see Spurs now hold the top two spots on the list.
Ledley is pretty happy about still having the record...
