Hi, everyone!
Happy Friday! That was...a match yesterday. Anyway, I will distract you, should you want it.
Before the proper ramble, I will share that I did not catch up on Don’t Tell the Bride yesterday, but I may have time over the weekend since I will be snowed in. I did have that hot chocolate. By the way, thanks for the recommendations of spiked hot chocolate, but I went with just some mixed with coffee.
I will stop rambling incessantly like a baking blogger who leaves very long stories about his/her/their personal life when really, all anyone wants is the recipe (or in this case, the formal ramble).
Ramble of the Day
I was thinking about Air Bud last night, of Air Bud, Air Bud: Golden Receiver, Air Bud: World Pup, Air Bud: Seventh Inning Fetch, and Air Bud: Spikes Back. Given what sport we all are obsessed with, I will focus on Air Bud: World Pup, the third film of the series. Let’s watch the trailer, because it is absolutely necessary to this incredibly important conversation.
I have never seen Air Bud: World Pup, which is really a shame. I almost made the time out last night, but I did not. (Turns out, I may have a lot to watch during my snowed in weekend, in addition to all of the football across Europe.)
This trailer, though, is quite something. I did not expect Air Bud to be a goalkeeper -- I thought he would a forward who was good with his head — but I am impressed. I like how the folks behind the film don’t realize that you cannot substitute a goalkeeper for a penalty shootout after extra time has ended, but you’re not really allowed to play a dog, so the rules don’t really matter.
I know Air Bud has had many adventures, but I would love to see him do other things. Air Bud: Winter Olympics might be fun, especially when it comes to figure skating. Maybe Air Bud should try rugby. Maybe film’s most talented dog could explore other arenas, like working as an executive chef in a restaurant. Perhaps we could get Air Bud: Tax Day, because he’s an accountant now and has to get those tax returns in on time. Maybe Air Bud can run for local office. Mayor Air Bud has a nice ring to it. Maybe there’s even more than one dog like Air Bud.
Conclusion: We must have an Air Bud Cinematic Universe, much like the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
Now that we have settled that, let’s get to those links.
Links of the Day
ESPN is reporting that Paris Saint-Germain are on the look for a new manager, and that Antonio Conte, José Mourinho, and André Villas-Boas are on the shortlist. Yes, you read that right.
Vincent Kompany wants Premier League clubs to lower ticket prices so the “right people” can easily attend matches.
Walter Mazzarri, formerly of Watford, is the new Torino coach.
