Once again, Poch and Kane are in the running for monthly accolades.

I feel like I write this post every month. The Premier League announced today that Tottenham Hotspur manager Mauricio Pochettino was nominated for the Barclays Manager of the Month for December, while striker Harry Kane was nominated for the December EA Sports Premier League Player of the Month.

First, let’s look at the managers. The other contenders are Crystal Palace’s Roy Hodgson, Liverpool’s Jurgen Klopp, Chelsea’s Antonio Conte, Everton’s Sam Allardyce, and Manchester City’s Pep Guardiola so ok never mind Pep’s won it already, let’s just move on. (But you can vote online at the Premier League’s Facebook page)

The Player of the Month award is a little more compelling. Kane is going up for the award against Chelsea’s Marcos Alonso, West Ham’s Marco Arnautovic, Manchester United’s Jesse Lingard, Leicester’s Riyad Mahrez, Manchester City’s Nicolas Otamendi, and Liverpool’s Mohamed Salah.

Kane scored eight goals during the December fixtures, including back-to-back hat tricks, and is still the Premier League pace-setter for goal scorers with 18, one ahead of Salah. You can vote for Harry at EA Sports’ website.

Kane has won the award five times in his career already, one back of the record owned by Steven Gerrard. He last won the monthly award in September.
