WATCH: Hugo Lloris is good again and all is right with the world

Damn, Hugo!

This week is garbage, because the Tottenham Hotspur news is pretty much restricted to stupid Nations League matches, stupid international friendlies, stupid injury updates, and even stupider transfer rumors that seem to spring fully formed from the skull of the Daily Star’s football editor.

So thank you to Hugo Lloris for giving me something interesting to talk about. Here is Tottenham’s recently-maligned club captain and keeper playing in goal for France as they take on Iceland in a friendly match at the Stade Municipal de Roudourou. He does something really good and it has buoyed my heart.

Check it out.

Things may still feel a little gloomy in Tottenham Hotspur land right now. There are still a bunch of injuries, Spurs still didn’t sign anyone in the summer (trust me, I checked again just to be sure), and despite being two points out of first in the Premier League table, it still feels like we’re a world away from the other title contenders. Hugo also has had a tough month or so between his drink driving arrest and a couple of highly publicized howlers.

Oh, and of course we are all passengers on a rock hurtling to our eventual demise in a merciless black void, let’s not forget that.

But based on that clip — Lloris makes three pretty impressive stops before throwing his defense a look of absolute disgust — it sure looks like Hugo might be good again. And I don’t know about you, but that makes me feel a hell of a lot better.

(At the time of this article, however, France is trailing Iceland 0-2. Can’t have it all, I guess.)
