Lamela, Foyth named to Argentina squad for upcoming friendlies

I guess Lamela’s recent form is too much for even Argentina to ignore!

It’s hard to believe but there’s YET ANOTHER international break coming up the week of November 17. But while we can look forward to another two weeks of fretting over whether any of Spurs’ big stars will be injured while playing for their country, there’s also good news.

Argentina released their roster for their two upcoming friendly matches, and two Tottenham Hotspur players have been called up. Defender Juan Foyth received his second consecutive call, and Erik Lamela is set to make his first appearance with Argentina since September of 2016.

It’s taken a while for Lamela to get back on Argentina’s radar since his return from injury, but apparently, Lamela’s hot form (and sharp elbows) with Tottenham has been more than even La Albiceleste can ignore.

Foyth was also called up in the last international break but never took the pitch. Hopefully he can make his senior team debut.

During this international break Argentina play two home friendly matches against Mexico for some reason — Saturday, November 17 and Tuesday, November 20, both at noon.
