T’riffic.

Hey there, reality TV-watching person. Yes, I’m talking to you. It’s okay to admit it, we all have our vices. Prepare to have your mind blown because your TV-watching habit and your Tottenham habit are about to collide in a weird and compelling way.

This might be old news, I don’t know, but I just found out today — former Tottenham Hotspur manager and top, top lad Harry Redknapp is set to join the cast of the new season of I’m A Celebrity, Get Me Out of Here!

Now look, my personal reality TV vice doesn’t extend much past Top Chef so I’ll admit that I totally had to look this show up. From what I can gather, I’m a Celebrity is like a cross between Survivor and Big Brother. Various celebrities from the UK are carted off to the jungles of Australia where they live together in less-than-ideal conditions, complete challenges, (ostensibly) create drama, and eventually get eliminated because reasons.

Good ol’ Arry is set to compete along with the following celebrities:

  • Anne Hegerty (game show contestant)
  • Emily Atack (actress)
  • Fleur East (X-factor contestant)
  • James McVey (musician)
  • John Barrowman (actor)
  • Malique Thompson-Dwyer (actor)
  • Nick Knowles (TV presenter)
  • Rita Simons (actress)
  • Sair Khan (actress)

It looks awful. It also now features Harry Redknapp, so I plan to watch it. ‘Triffic.

Honestly the only other person on that list besides Redknapp that I recognize is John Barrowman, and that’s only because I’m a Doctor Who fan. All I know is that it looks as though I might have the possibility of watching Harry Redknapp eat a kangaroo testicle or something, and I am HERE for it.

Meanwhile, Rafael van der Vaart had a little fun at Harry’s expense, hinting that he’d be willing to join Harry in Australia. It won’t happen but I sure wish it would.

The new season starts November 18, and we’ve lined up Pardeep to keep you all abreast of Redknapp’s progression via the Hoddle. Goody!
