WATCH: Aerial footage of Tottenham’s new stadium before roof lift

A London resident has been posting videos of Spurs’ new stadium with use of a drone.

Need something to take your minds off of the upcoming Champions League match today? An anonymous London resident named Mr. Av has been taking and posting high definition videos of Tottenham Hotspur’s new stadium thanks to a camera drone, and the results are pretty cool.

The latest video went up a few days ago and shows a new stadium that is ready to literally raise the roof. You can clearly see that the “compression ring” around the top of the stands is fully complete and the stadium should begin the roof lift in the coming days and weeks.

According to a recent article on Spurs’ website, the roof is comprised of 45 high tension cables supporting 287 glass roof sections and 810 cassettes. This is one of the most critical parts of the stadium construction and is dependent on weather and wind conditions.

Spurs’ new home in north London is starting to look like a proper stadium now. Once the roof is up, we should get an even clearer picture of what it’ll be like when it opens next fall.
