As Americans, this is the best time of the year, especially if you’re a college basketball fan. This weekend is the first two rounds of the NCAA college basketball tournament, which in my humble opinion is the single most perfect sporting competition in the ENTIRE WORLD FIGHT ME.
It’s perfect: seeded teams, single elimination, neutral courts. And this year’s tournament has been absolutely bonkers, including a 16 seed (University of Maryland Baltimore County) upsetting a 1 seed (University of Virginia) for the first time in tournament history, among a number of other notable upsets. It’s great. At least for this weekend, football can suck it.
But this is a football blog, and there are a lot of non-Americans that read this, so I guess we better make an open thread for the games on today. And those games are the other two FA Cup quarterfinal matches.
But yes, feel free to talk about the tournament in here too.
