What the hell, y’all want a match thread for the England friendly? Well, you got one anyway, so there. The Three Lions are in the Netherlands to take on Holland in what is probably considered a World Cup warm-up match, but is in reality a waste of time. But whatever.

The big talking point: Gareth Southgate’s lineup. Tottenham Hotspur regulars Dele Alli and Eric Dier both begin the match on the bench, Kieran Trippier and Danny Rose both start. As does former Tottenham right back Kyle Walker.

...Wait, what?

Yep! Apparently Kyle Walker is starting the match in Southgate’s back three formation, which is weird on its surface and doubly weird when you consider that James Tarkowski, Harry Maguire, and Alfie Mawson are all unused.

Welp! Let’s see how goofy this match gets. Come on you ENGERLAND.
