Victor Wanyama’s stunner against Liverpool named Premier League Goal of the Month for February

It’s a well deserved honor for our Kenyan midfielder

It has to be one of the most satisfying goals that a Tottenham player has scored all season. The way he hit the ball, the sound it made when it hit the net, and the effect it had in bringing Spurs back in a tense contest: Victor Wanyama’s goal against Liverpool deserves all the accolades in the world.

And now it finally has one!

Wanyama’s rocket on February 4th has been named as the Premier League’s Goal of the Month.

Wanyama’s goal came at a time when Spurs were being frustrated by Liverpool’s defense as they tried to get back into what was a crucial match. Tottenham had created chances, but no one expected the equalizing strike to come from the Kenyan, especially not in that fashion.

If you somehow haven’t seen it yet, it’s worth a million viewings.

You can tell the goal even surprised Victor himself. He had no idea how to celebrate!

Liverpool responded to the goal with what looked like a late winner, but then Erik Lamela was kicked in the penalty box by Virgil van Dijk. Jon Moss rightfully pointed to the spot, and Harry Kane tied the game for the final time. The jimmies of Liverpool fans everywhere were so wonderfully rustled.

The fans only have a 10% say in who wins Goal of the Month. Otherwise, Liverpool fans would have probably poisoned this poll with their salt. Sure, Moh Salah scored some nice goals this month, but none were nicer than this laser from Wanyama.
