This morning, the Professional Footballer’s Association (PFA) released its Premier League Team of the Year, and to nobody’s surprise, Tottenham Hotspur are well represented with three players recognized. Harry Kane, Jan Vertonghen, and Christian Eriksen all made the cut.

The three Tottenham players go along with the five (!) from Manchester City to make up the vast bulk of the XI. Manchester United’s David de Gea, Chelsea’s Marcos Alonso, and Liverpool’s Mohamed Salah round out the team.
This is the fourth consecutive year that Kane has made the PFA Premier League Team of the Year, but the first time Eriksen has been recognized. Jan Vertonghen was also on the Team of the Year in the 2012-13 season. There has been at least one Tottenham player in the Team of the Year in six of the last seven seasons.
All PFA awards are voted on by Premier League footballers, so this is considered to be a “players’ award.”
