Tottenham Hotspur 2018-19 third kits leak on social media

That is EXTREMELY teal.

We’ve already seen what look like reliable leaks for Tottenham Hotspur’s 2018-19 home and away kits, but while we’ve gotten color hints for the thirds, we haven’t really seen what they will look like. Until now.

A mock-up of the expected third kits leaked today on Twitter and they are, well, a color I’ve never seen on a Spurs shirt before.

That is... very teal.

So, we all expected this year’s kits to follow more or less the established Nike templates that will be used extensively by international teams at this summer’s World Cup, and that’s pretty much what we’ve got here. In fact, these third kits are basically identical to the blue aways with the weird gradation pattern on the shoulders in a shade of the main color, with white logos and (presumably) numbers. We don’t know what color the shorts will be, but white or teal would be pretty good guesses.

But I’ve gotta tell you, if this leak is real and this is what the third kits are going to be like, I don’t hate it nearly as much as I expected to. It’s a Nike template and Nike templates are dumb and bad, but you kind of expect third kits to go slightly nuts and I don’t think we’ve ever seen a teal Tottenham shirt outside of maaaaaybe a keeper kit. I... kind of like it, and I didn’t think I’d be saying that.

This design isn’t on footyheadlines yet (though they did confirm the main color), which is sort of the gold standard for kit leaks, but this seems like a reasonable approximation. The third kits are supposedly going to be debuted in September, but I wouldn’t be shocked if they see the light of day during Tottenham’s preseason tour to USA for the International Champions Cup.

So what do you think? Put your opinions in the comments.
