Hi, Hoddlers!
Let’s talk about an old rumor.
Ramble of the Day
I’m sure a few of may remember, but former Tottenham boss André Villas-Boas was recently mentioned in the same sentence as Borussia Dortmund. The rumor did not travel and he likely won’t get that job, but it did have me thinking about something, mainly letters.
Let me spell it out: The rumor suggested that AVB could be coaching BVB very soon.
AVB. BVB. It’s like a VB alphabet! Of course, I had to go to Google and figure out how the rest of this alphabet would shake out. It turned out that most of these VBs are banks.
There were in total seven banks that popped up in my searches. HVB, KVB, LVB, MVB, NVB, OVB, and SVB made the cut. Four of them were from the United States, two were located in India, and the last one is in Germany. The only thing that is more popular in the VB alphabet than banks, though, is airports.
There were a total of 12 airports with IATA codes ending in VB. AVB, BVB, CVB, HVB, KVB, LVB, MVB, SVB, VVB, WVB, and YVB are all real airports, and Madagascar has two of them! I have been to none of them and that makes me a little bit sad, since I actually like airports.
I associate airports with the excitement of traveling, more so on the way to a new place than on the way back. It’s a good place to people watch and once you get past the sometimes long check-in lines and head into the terminal, they’re a good place to pass the time. I’m speaking as someone who mostly travels to and from large international airports, so naturally, the terminals are fairly interesting. Plus, they’re a good way to distract me from planes, which I dislike, not because I have a fear of flying, but because the atmosphere is awful.
Planes have this buzzing sound that’s fairly easy to get used to, and yet somehow annoying. The air quality is awful and, as I discovered recently, is terrible for my hair. I also do not love the idea of sitting in limited space over several hours because I do not love tight spaces, but I put up with it to get to nice places.
tl;dr: André Villas-Boas...and airports.
