It’s News O’Clock in Tottenham Hotspur world! On the heels of the official announcement that Cameron Carter-Vickers is extending his stay in north London comes another important announcement: midfielder Harry Winks has also signed a new deal that will keep him at the club until 2023.

This one is big. Winks had a lost season this year after injuring his ankle and was never able to recover despite numerous treatments and a trip to Qatar for rehabilitation. He is set for ankle surgery this summer, but signed his new contract before going under the knife.
With Mousa Dembele possibly leaving the club, Winksy is probably going to be featuring a lot more in Spurs’ midfield moving forward, assuming he’s able to get healthy and back to fitness in time for the start of next season. Spurs will probably also look to sign another central midfielder, but the club really missed Winks this spring and as a home-grown academy graduate it’s lovely to know that Pochettino still thinks that he can be an important part of this Spurs club moving forward.
Congrats to Winksy! Let’s keep the new contracts coming!
