Want some good news ahead of today’s critical match vs. Newcastle today? Christian Eriksen won a monthly Premier League award!
Nope, it’s not the Player of the Month award for April, which he was also nominated for -- that went to Crystal Palace’s Wilfried Zaha. But Eriksen did take home the prize for April’s Carling Goal of the Month for his long-range blast against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge.
Here’s Christian about the goal on Tottenham’s twitter account this morning.

That’s a gorgeous goal, without question and had me shrieking when it went in during the match. I think I scared the cats and at least one of my children. That said, I’m pretty sure I voted for the OTHER goal in that win over Chelesa — Dele Alli’s goal where he took a long pass down on his foot and rounded Courtois.
Whatever, I’m not complaining. This is the first time Eriksen has lifted a Premier League monthly trophy of any kind this season and boy howdy does he deserve it, and a lot more. Congrats, Christian!
