Harry Kane was the last Tottenham Hotspur player to sign a major new contract, which the club announced before the World Cup. But there have been multiple rumors that there are many more to come.

Spurs beat writer Alasdair Gold, writing for football.london, says that player is likely to be Dele Alli. According to Gold, Dele is very close to signing a new contract with Tottenham that is worth at least £100k/week, and that the new contract could be announced “in the coming days.”

That would be fantastic news, but it would be odd timing, especially if the deal isn’t yet done. With England now in Russia to compete in the World Cup, I can’t imagine that he is doing anything except concentrating on preparing to face Tunisia on Monday. The same can be said for the other Spurs players rumored to be in line for new contracts, a list that includes Christian Eriksen, Son Heung-Min, Kieran Trippier, Ben Davies, and Hugo Lloris.

Now, if you want a slightly conspiracy theorish take, there’s a rumor floating around that suggests that a number of players, Dele and Christian in particular, who have already signed new contracts and that the club will be rolling out announcements over the next period. We’ll find out if that’s the case, but if they haven’t yet put pen to paper, I can’t imagine that we won’t be waiting to hear the news until after England’s run in Russia is over.
