We have transfer news to report! While it’s not Dele Alli, Christian Eriksen, or Son Heung-Min, Tottenham Hotspur announced the extensions of two contracts today — Development Squad midfielder Shilow Tracey and striker Kazaiah Sterling.

Tracey, 20, is a midfielder who was signed from Ebbsfleet United a couple of years ago. He’s been pretty quiet in Spurs’ U18s and U23s up until now, but he’s obviously done enough for the Spurs coaching staff to keep him around a while. I don’t think he has the goods to crack the first team, but the club probably things that at minimum they can flip him for a small profit.
Sterling, 19, was a stud at the U18 level for Spurs and cracked the U23s for the first time this season. He scored 12 goals and notched three assists in all competitions this season, which isn’t bad considering he’s playing with guys two years older than him. He’s pretty far down the pecking order and might also be behind Reo Griffiths on the depth chart, so again it’s not clear whether he’ll make it at Spurs, but he’s one that’s worth keeping around for a while, anyway.
Hopefully this is the beginning of not only a string of contract extensions but also significant transfer activity for Spurs going forward. At least there’s news!
