Marca: Fernando Llorente considering offer from Chinese Super League

The source is LOL, but the rumor is plausible.

We don’t usually post transfer rumors from MARCA, but I’m doing this one because... well, just because. According to the Spanish football mag, Fernando Llorente could be leaving Tottenham Hotspur after all, with the striker considering several offers, including one from the Chinese Super League.

The report comes in MARCA’s daily transfer round-up and what I typed in that first paragraph is literally the extent of the rumor. There’s nothing else — no reports of which Chinese club, how much the transfer fee might be, or whether Spurs would be willing to sanction the move. (My personal answers to those questions are doesn’t matter, a bacon sandwich, and yes.)

Prior quotes from Llorente seemed to suggest that he’d be staying, mostly because nobody seemed interested in buying him. And at some level it probably doesn’t hurt Spurs to keep him around, as he’s shown that he can be useful in certain situations. But Poch clearly decided that he wasn’t the experienced Harry Kane sub that he thought he was buying, and it wouldn’t surprise me in the slightest if he is f—ked off if Daniel Levy can break even on the deal.

No, I’m not saying you should believe a MARCA rumor. In fact, you probably shouldn’t. What I’m saying is that if this would happen to be true, it’d be a-ok with the club, and probably with the majority of Spurs fans.
