Preparations for this season’s Checkatrade Trophy are underway, with Tottenham’s Development Squad being drawn against Crawley Town, Gillingham, and Portsmouth.
The first match will be against League Two side Crawley Town, who finished 14th last season. The team is currently managed by former Leeds and Liverpool midfielder Harry Kewell, who will begin his second year with the Reds this season. Gillingham and Portsmouth are both in League One, and finished 17th and 8th last season, respectively.
Each team will play each other once before the two top two sides from each group progress to the knockout rounds. As one of the 16 invited teams, Spurs will play all of their matches away from home. Tottenham participated in the tournament for the first time last season, getting out in the group stage.
Times and dates for the matches have yet to be set. You can look at the full draw at the EFL’s website here.
