It’s done. French Ligue 1 side Olympique Lyonnais has completed the signing of former Tottenham youth player Reo Griffiths. The speedy striker signs on a four year deal lasting until 2022. Lyon announced the signing on their twitter account.
Le jeune attaquant anglais, Reo Griffiths (18 ans), a signé un contrat professionnel d’une durée de 4 saisons avec la #TeamOL, soit jusqu’au 30 juin 2022.

So be it. Jedi.
According to the Lyon report, Reo is joining the club as a full professional and will begin his French career in Lyon’s second team, playing in the youth league. That’s not so different than what he’d be doing as a member of Tottenham Hotspur, so clearly Reo either needed a change of scenery or thought that he would have fewer obstacles to the first team at Lyon than he would at Spurs.
This isn’t exactly a surprise. Reo had been making noises about leaving Spurs for a number of weeks now. When he agreed to stay for the third year of his scholarship, we thought that was it. But at Lyon, he’s now a full-fledged pro, and that’s nothing to scoff at.
Best of luck to Reo. I wish I had more of a chance to see what he could do as a member of Tottenham Hotspur. I’ll be following his career with great interest!
