Mauricio Pochettino gave his weekly pre-match press conference, and there’s good news in Tottenham’s ongoing midfield injury crunch. Pochettino said that three of his wounded warriors - Erik Lamela, Harry Winks, and Josh Onomah - all returned to full training this week.
#thfc Lamela, Onomah & Winks all back in training this week. CCV (groin), Foyth (knee) and Wanyama (knee) the only injured players. Wanyama has started training outside again.

Great news, especially for Lamela and his “unspecified muscle” injury. He looked great out there in Spurs’ first International Champions Cup match against Roma, but we never saw him again in the preseason. Same for Winks, who has been battling separate ankle injuries for the better part of a year. Joshy had been out with a knee injury which is probably why he wasn’t sent out on loan to another English club before the window closed, but it might be a good thing, especially if he can turn that into a stint in Spurs’ midfield this season.
I don’t expect that any of the three will actually be in contention to play this Saturday against Fulham, but it’s nice knowing that they’re back in training, and hopefully we’ll see them soon.
