If you’re anywhere close to a football news page or Tottenham Hotspur twitter, then you’ve probably seen the Dele Alli Celebration Challenge. Basically, it’s a dare to see if you can reproduce the upside down thumb-forefinger-circle goal celebration thing that Dele did for the first time after scoring against Newcastle last weekend.
It’s become a bit of a viral sensation, with people now challenging other people to figure out how to do it without rupturing the tendons in your hand. The best videos are the ones with very confused looking footballers trying, and failing, to figure out how Dele did it. Hint: it’s uncomfortable to do. Here’s a good explanation on how it’s done, courtesy of Mauricio Pochettino.

It’s both clever and also kinda dumb, but hey, we’re just gonna roll with it because it’s a thing now and anything that isn’t people talking about Spurs’ lack of signings or the stadium delay is a good thing, right?
Well, anyway, Mousa Dembele put probably the best possible response to the Dele Challenge on his Instagram today. It’s both brilliant and hilarious.
What a legend. I hope he scores against his old club Fulham tomorrow and then pulls that doughnut out of his shorts for extra #banter.
