The Hoddle of Coffee: Tottenham news and links for Monday, August 20

Our Hoddler-in-Chief is on vacation this week, so I guess you’re stuck with the boss.

Hi, Hoddlers! Pardeep’s on vacation, so I guess that means you’re stuck with me for at least part of the week, until I can find some other sucker to foist this job off of until she comes back.

I’m not a rambler — that’s a skill I haven’t developed and that Pardeep is excellent at. What I am is a classically trained musician, and I happen to think my tastes are both pretty eclectic and also pretty good. So this week I’m bringing back an old Hoddle standard started by Ed F. — the Song of the Day.

It’s Monday, so we need to start off the week with an up-tempo banger. Say hello to Caroline Rose. In an earlier incarnation, she was a young folksinger doing the coffeehouse circuit. This track comes off of her album “Loner” which came out last February, and it’s... well, it’s not exactly folk music.

I like to listen this song on my morning runs.

Here are your morning links.

Columbus is about to lose the Crew to Texas, and it really sucks.

Tottenham Hotspur Ladies dropped their first match in the FA WSL Cup to Crystal Palace yesterday, losing 5-4 on penalties after drawing 1-1 in regulation.

Cristiano Ronaldo made his Juventus debut on Sunday and ended up putting Chievo Verona’s starting keeper in the hospital.

The Mail on Sunday (lol I know) is reporting that Spurs’ new stadium might not be ready until February. Gulp!
