BID! THERE’S BEEN A BID! According to Sky Sports’ Lyall Thomas, Tottenham Hotspur lodged a £25m bid for Aston Villa’s Jack Grealish, after days of negotiations between the two sides. Spurs are now waiting on Aston Villa to respond.

Aaaaaaand that’s the best part of the story, because several reports are saying that this bid is very likely to be rejected by Aston Villa’s new owners. The Mirror’s Darren Lewis is saying that it’s already been rejected.
The £25m that Villa have rejected for Grealish is more than Leicester paid for James Maddison. Grealish is a good player but £30m is a stretch. A real stretch. https://t.co/wtAqyqunmD

This is getting really dumb. £25m is a perfectly fair bid for a Championship player who isn’t a guaranteed starter on Tottenham’s team, especially when Spurs know that Villa need to sell to offset the Financial Fair Play deficit.
But maybe Villa will surprise us all and will finally accept this bid in the interest of fairahahahahahahahahahahahaha no sorry I can’t
I expect that this will probably go right to the very last minutes of the transfer window, folks. Hold onto your butts.
