More great stuff from the BBC transfer tracker this morning in the wake of Aston Villa’s rejection of a £25m bid for Jack Grealish.
Apparently, Grealish is FURIOUS with Villa for turning down the bid, according to Simon Stone. The report states that Villa’s owners had previously told him that he could leave for a bid of that amount, and that they apparently reneged on that deal.
So if you’re a Tottenham Hotspur fan and you still want to see the Grealish deal get over the line, this could give you some small hope, despite the Villa owner’s words today that Jack’s “going nowhere.” Because at the end of the day, Grealish is still too good for the Championship and it sure sounds like he wants to move to Spurs to play in the Champions League.
If Grealish decides to start throwing his weight around, it could mean that things will change here in the coming hours. We don’t know that for sure, of course, but I would not be at all shocked if Spurs put in a slightly improved bid (£25,000,001?) and Villa’s new owners get a stern phone call from one Daniel Levy, bald vampire ninja Jedi.
Time to go to the jerk mattresses, Jack.
