Hey, it’s another England friendly! Wheeee! The Three Lions have gotten through the “let’s-pretend-we-care” part of the international break, losing 2-1 to Spain in their Nations League opener this weekend at Wembley Stadium, and now are set to play a friendly against Switzerland.
Harry Kane is being rested by Gareth Southgate and Dele Alli picked up a small bout of internationalitis in his muscle, so neither will feature for England. However, Southgate indicated that Eric Dier will captain the side against the Swiss, and Danny Rose is expected to start at left back after the injury to Luke Shaw. No word on Kieran Trippier, but I assume he’ll be on the bench so his understudy, Kyle Walker, can get some rare minutes. Hashtag-banter, amirite?
