WATCH: Son Heung-Min makes two Chilean players look silly in international friendly

That man had a family!

It’s been a depressing couple of weeks for Tottenham Hotspur, between the Hugo Lloris drink driving incident, the Watford loss, an international football break, and the looming specter of a big home match against a Liverpool side that looks pretty damn tough.

So let’s all step back for a second and take a breather by watching something that should make all of us feel better: Son Heung-Min being good at football.

This made the rounds on social media yesterday and I don’t know why I didn’t post it then except that I got busy. That’s our dear Sonny during Korea’s scoreless draw with Chile, first skipping over a sliding Arturo Vidal before absolutely destroying Diego Valdes WITH A GOSH DARN MID-AIR BACK HEEL FLICK AND NUTMEG HOLY CRAP.

I have had this video on loop for ten minutes as I write this article. It still doesn’t get any less amazing.

(This is the same Diego Valdes who got into trouble for making a racist “squinty-eye” gesture while posing with a South Korean fan on social media, so maybe we shouldn’t feel too sorry for him.)

If you’re wondering why Sonny was playing for Korea’s senior team in a stupid, meaningless friendly just after a physically and emotionally draining Asian Games gold medal performance with the Korea U21s, well, so am I. But so long as he’s still able to do stuff like that, who am I to judge?

Sonny is an absolute delight, and we must protect him at all costs.
