Breaking news coming out via the internet, and it’s not good. Online news outlet iNews is out with an exclusive that says Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Dele Alli will miss the next month after aggravating his hamstring injury.

Before you freak out, and believe me — this is worth freaking out over, it’s important to first take a look at the source. iNews sounds like a rando blog, but it’s actually the digital imprint of “i”, a British paper that also operates the Yorkshire Post and Daily Scotsman. It’s not the biggest paper, but unless editorial standards have dropped significantly they wouldn’t make up an exclusive like this one. Also, the tweet was RT’d on Twitter by the Standard’s Dan Kilpatrick, which lends it an additional level of credibility. [Edit: it’s also now being reported by the Daily Mirror]
So that’s literally all we know, but we can surmise that if the reports are true then the injury probably happened in training today, and could be an exacerbation of the hamstring injury that caused Dele to withdraw from international duty a couple weeks ago. It means that Dele will miss not only this weekend’s match at Huddersfield, but also Wednesday’s Champions League home match against Barcelona. Also keep in mind that Christian Eriksen is also injured and could miss Barca as well.
If this is true, it ain’t good, folks. And it looks like it’s true.
