In case you hadn’t heard, Denmark’s football association (DFB) reached a temporary settlement with its players association in the ongoing dispute over player sponsorships recently. That made room for Christian Eriksen and the rest of Denmark’s best 23 players to be able to play in the Nations League opener against Wales today.
Christian Eriksen rewarded all of Denmark for that agreement today, ripping a long low shot in off the post to put the Danes up 1-0 over Wales in the first half. Check it out!

Denmark had previously fielded a squad of Danish lower-league and futsal players in a 3-0 loss to Slovakia earlier in the week, and if they hadn’t reached an agreement they faced the prospects of starting off their Nations League campaign with a sizable loss.
Eriksen is continuing his fantastic form for Denmark that stretches back to the World Cup and even earlier:

Now, it’d be great if Eriksen could turn some of the amazing goals he makes for Denmark into goals for Tottenham Hotspur. Starting next weekend vs. Liverpool would be nice.
UPDATE: It’s two! Eriksen slotted home a second half penalty after Wales was called for a handball in the box to put Denmark up 2-0 over Wales.
