Mousa Dembele flying to China to finalize Beijing Guoan transfer

It’s happening.

It appears that Mousa Dembele really has played his last match for Tottenham Hotspur. According to an exclusive report by football.london, Dembele is currently on a plane to Hong Kong in order to finalize his £11m transfer to Chinese Super League club side Beijing Guoan.

There was some question as to whether this deal was really going to happen last week after the Beijing Guoan president denied that he was in negotiations with Tottenham to bring Dembele to China, but apparently a Spurs fan was able to snap a picture of him at Heathrow before he boarded his flight today.

Losing Moose is super sad, but he is nowhere near the player he was for Tottenham Hotspur two years ago, and he would’ve certainly left Spurs this summer on a free. Under these circumstances, getting £11m for him six months before his contract expires represents some pretty darned good business. Plus, the Chinese Super League is a place where Moose can probably extend his career by a couple of seasons as it’s less physical and slower than the Premier League.

I would imagine that we’ll be getting the official announcement soon.
