Moussa Sissoko’s injury may not be as bad as feared

He might miss the Fulham match, but is expected to be ready to play afterwards.

Hey remember that article I wrote earlier today that said Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Moussa Sissoko could miss a month of action after injuring his groin against Manchester United?

JUST KIDDING.

There’s conflicting news about that. A reporter interviewed Mauricio Pochettino today and Poch had a very different read on Sissoko’s injury than earlier reports.

Missing one match at Fulham does not equate being out for a whole month so I have no idea what’s going on. So on one hand — yay! That’s great news, and Spurs could certainly use Sissoko as they forge their way through this hellscape littered with the bodies of Spurs star players. On the other hand, it’s not a stretch to say that Pochettino has a... let’s call it “liberal definition of truth” when it comes to player updates and injuries.

But on a day that has been pretty much the embodiment of the Darkest Timeline, one needs must head to whatever light one encounters in the Stygian darkness. This is one such light, however small. I’ll take it.
