Tottenham transfer deadline day live stream: all the updates

We’ll keep you apprised of all the last minute rumors, sale, and (sob) signings on deadline day.

Happy Transfer Deadline Day, Tottenham Hotspur fans! This year, instead of our usual slew of posts, we’re going to try and keep rumors under one roof. This post will serve as a living document, a “live-stream” of all Tottenham related rumors. Bigger stories, permanent moves, etc. can and will be spun off into their own posts, but you can use this as a starting place for all the madness.

Let’s dig in!

Vincent Janssen likely staying at Spurs

Poor Vinnie. Poor, poor guy. I feel awful.

The thing about hope is: it’s dumb.

Aaaaaaaahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha

Michy update!

Also of interest:

Me, right now:

DONE DEAL: Kazaiah Sterling heading to Sunderland on loan

Hey, another one! This time it’s the darling of the U23s, Kazaiah Sterling, who’s heading off to Sunderland on loan. Good news is, our friends at the excellent SB Nation Sunderland blog Roker Report will be able to help us keep tabs on him.

What if the Michy deal isn’t dead?

I hate the transfer window when it gets my hopes up like this.

Soooo... £35m for an actual real striker who can back up Harry Kane? Lordy, that sounds good! I can even countenance the £160k/week wages if it’s on a permanent deal.

In short: HOLY CRAP LEVY JUST DO IT DO IT DOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO IIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIT

DONE DEAL: Anthony Georgiou to Levante on loan

It’s another loan, but not the one we wanted!

It’s not nothing! It’s just... not what we’re looking for. Still, Georgiou getting a loan to a top-flight Spanish side is a good move for him. Good luck, Anthony!

Update: It’s to their second team, which plays in the third division of Spanish football. Oh well. Full story here.

This is an Udinese blog now

OH MY GOD Y’ALL

Udinese could conceivably play a Tom Huddlestone-Sandro midfield! My 2012 self is leaping for joy right now.

From the Guardian’s transfer tracker feed

This isn’t going to make anyone happy, but I thought I’d at least share.

Tottenham update: They’re not buying anyone, obviously. But Vincent Janssen might well be staying – Real Betis have pulled out of a loan move, so the Dutchman might be joining Michy Batshuayi in staying stuck on the sidelines. Both men are waiting on West Ham to rescue them, Gollivan’s wallet hands twitching furiously as the window winds down.

Thicc Vin waiting on WEST HAM to save him? This is a goddamn tragedy. Poor Vinnie.

The German transfer window is shut, and Janssen’s loan to Schalke is off

It was implied earlier that a potential loan to Schalke for Vincent Janssen was looking dicey, but now it’s official — the German transfer window is closed, and the deal is now off.

No word yet on whether Thicc Vin will find a new home before window shuts in 5.5 hours.

Michy Batshuayi wanted “bat-s—t” crazy wages

If you’re still wondering why we didn’t go after Michy on loan today, this might explain it.

LOL. Go on, Michy, get paid. But it won’t be in north London.

Former Spur Tom Huddlestone in talks with Udinese

Remember when Tom Huddlestone left Tottenham how a lot of us said that he would absolutely crush it in a league like Serie A because his lack of mobility wouldn’t be as much of a hindrance and might free up his passing range? WELL!

Moar like Tom Pirlostone, IMO. Fulfill your destiny, Tom.

Spurs are getting tons of agent calls today, but it’s not looking like anyone’s coming in.

If you’re looking for a shock signing before 11 p.m. UK, don’t get your hopes up. But if you want to cling to hope, there’s this from Alastair Gold, who says that Spurs are being contacted by tons of football agents who are trying to make a last-minute deal.

DONE DEAL: N’koudou to Monaco on loan

Full article is here.

Spurs reject loan for Michy Batshuayi

Not sure what to think about this one, but according to Sky’s TV coverage Tottenham were offered Chelsea striker Michy Batshuayi on loan... and Spurs turned them down.

I don’t know how I can be disappointed about a transfer rumor that I literally didn’t know existed five minutes ago, but there we are. Love Michy. He’d be great here. Can’t imagine the loan terms were favorable to Spurs, though. Roll on transfer window.

A loan for Kaz?

According to the Guardian’s David Hytner, Tottenham’s academy striker Kazaiah Sterling might be in line for a loan before the end of the day.

Spurs keeping tabs on Jarrod Bowen... but for a summer transfer

Remember Jarrod Bowen? The Hull City midfielder had caught the eye of Tottenham this winter after scoring a bunch of goals in the Championship in a relatively short period of time. However, according to football.london, Spurs are still interested but probably won’t make a move until the summer.

Expect that to be a theme regarding incoming transfers today.

Sky Sports News reporting Schalke loan for Janssen unlikely

I found a Sky Sports stream to get the latest rumors, and the latest from the Tottenham circles is that the Vincent Janssen loan to Schalke is looking less likely. However, there is apparently interest in Janssen from Cardiff and Burnley — Cardiff would need to buy Janssen outright since they already have the league-maximum two Premier League loans. Cardiff thought they had their new striker with the signing of Emiliano Sala before his plane was tragically lost over the English Channel last week.

Is Crouchy back?

Not really a Tottenham transfer rumor, except that it involves a beloved former Tottenham player. According to this, the 38-year old giraffe striker is close to a return to the Premier League with Burnley. Wild.

Vincent Janssen loan to Real Betis on the skids, links with Schalke

Vincent Janssen looked like he might be heading to La Liga with a loan with Real Betis, but according to football.london that’s looking less likely now. However, there are new links around a loan move to Bundesliga club Schalke.

Georges-Kevin N’koudou’s loan to Monaco looks close.

According to Sky’s Lyall Thomas, N’koudou is in Monaco for a medical ahead of a loan to the Ligue 1 club. Monaco are in a fight for survival in the French league and recently sacked former Arsenal legend Thierry Henry before re-appointing Leonardo Jardim.
