Despite losses at Arsenal and home to Wolves, December as a pretty darned good month for Tottenham Hotspur. Exhibit A of that fact is this: Spurs had two players and their manager nominated for the Premier League monthly awards in December.
Son Heung-Min and Harry Kane were nominated for EA SPORTS Player of the month, along with Liverpool’s Mo Salah and Virgil van Dijk, Manchester United’s Marcus Rashford, Chelsea’s Eden Hazard, and West Ham’s Felipe Anderson. Sonny had six goals and three assists in December, while Kane also had six goals and two assists in two fewer shot attempts.
Pochettino was also nominated — again — as Premier League Manager of the Month for December, along with Liverpool’s Jurgen Klopp, Chelsea’s Maurizio Sarri, West Ham’s Manuel Pellegrini, and Wolves’ Nuno Espirito Santo.
A fine festive period.

Pochettino has pretty much been a bridesmaid in the Manager of the Month competition lately. Despite being nominated seemingly every week, he hasn’t won the award since April of 2017, and with Klopp having won seven games out seven in December, it looks like another tall order to win this month.
